A new opportunity has arisen to join Cyber Security Challenge UK within the PR and Marketing team.

Reports To: PR Manager

Location:       Home based

Position:        Full time – some flexibility required on occasion & UK travel required

Start Date:    Immediate

Salary:            £22,000-£26,000 (experience dependant) plus company pension and expenses

Cyber Security Challenge UK (the Challenge) is a not for profit organisation with a remit to find talented people to join the Cyber Security profession and to promote career opportunities in the sector. The successful candidate will form part of the Challenge’s PR and Marketing team, working with the PR Manager and our external PR agency, making sure all aspects of those roles run smoothly.  The successful candidate will also work closely with Business Engagement Team to maintain close links with Challenge sponsors. This will be a busy role so the successful applicant will be able to work well under pressure, be organised, accurate, pay close attention to detail, have a good telephone manner, be professional and remain both flexible and available when needed.

PR & Marketing Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the writing and distributing of press releases
  • Managing the content of the Challenge website and gaming platforms
  • Engaging with sponsors to sustain their support for the Challenge
  • Helping to manage partner networks – booking events, sharing content etc
  • Overseeing the social media accounts and assisting in the social media strategy
  • Overseeing the promotion of regional events
  • Compiling coverage and activity reports
  • Contributing ideas for the marketing and PR strategy
  • Acquiring updates and news from internal team for use in marketing activities
  • Attending Challenge networking events and competitions
  • Representing the Challenge at core industry events and exhibitions
  • Management of marketing materials and branding

PR & Marketing Assistant Skills Required:

  • Experience of working in PR/marketing or related field
  • Degree level education preferred, but not essential
  • Excellent copy writing and proof-reading skills
  • Computer literate and competent use of social media
  • Great interpersonal skills – on the phone, email and face-to-face
  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines and a strong attention to detail
