Competition rules and eligibility
The eligibility rules below must be accepted in order for you to register for, and participate in, the NCA Winter Cyber Challenge:
You must be 18 years or under on 31 December 2020, and resident in the UK to participate. Prizes will only be delivered to UK, Isle of Man, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey addresses.
Automated entries, bulk entries or third party entries will be disqualified.
There are four competition challenges which will run:
- 1 December 1200hrs – 7 December 2020 2359hrs
- 8 December 2020 1200hrs – 14 December 2020 2359hrs
- 15 December 2020 1200hrs – 22 December 2020 2359hrs
- 22 December 2020 1200hrs to 31 December 2020 2359hrs
Lucky draw prizes will be drawn after each competition challenge period.
The grand prizes will be drawn at the end of the competition challenge period and will require all 4 challenges to be completed. Challenges will be open after their stated challenge period is ended in order for entrants to be able to complete the challenges and be eligible for the grand prizes.

The Cyber Security Challenge UK and the NCA reserve the right to award prizes to winners they select, and the entrance into the competition and the submission of a right answer does not impose any obligation on the competition sponsors to award prize to any competitor. The sponsors reserve the right to change advertised prizes to ones of equivalent value. No cash alternatives will be provided.
Data gathered for the purposes of participating in this competition fall under GDPR regulations. The Cyber Security Challenge UK is the data owner and processor for all personal data provided by participants. Please refer to our general privacy and data policies for more information. We will never pass your details on to any third party without your consent.
Media & publicity
Participants will be asked to agree for their name to be used in publicity by the Challenge and NCA if they become a winner. This publicity will only refer to the current competition and will not be used in any other publicity without your prior written agreement.
End of challenge survey
At the end of the Winter Cyber Competition entrants will be sent a short survey to complete. This will be optional but entrants who complete the survey will given two entries into the last lucky draw prize.
When playing our competitions you must not do anything to contravene any UK Law or do anything to bring Cyber Security Challenge UK or the NCA into ill repute.
Winners are expected to use their iPads in a safe and legal manner. The following websites provide further information:
Should prize winners experience any operational or technical issues with their iPads then this should be pursued according to the manufactures warranty procedure.
