Competition rules and eligibility
The eligibility rules below must be accepted in order for you to register for, and participate in, the NCA Spring Cyber Challenge:
You must be 18 years or under on 31 December 2021, and resident in the UK to participate. Prizes will only be delivered to UK, Isle of Man, Gibraltar and the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey addresses. Proof of eligibility will be required for winning entries.
Automated entries, bulk entries or third party entries will be disqualified.
There are five competition challenges which will run:
- Week 1 – 29 March 2021 1200hrs – 4 April 2021 2359hrs
- Week 2 – 5 April 2021 1200hrs – 11 April 2021 2359hrs
- Week 3 – 12 April 2021 1200hrs – 18 April 2021 2359hrs
- Week 4 – 19 April 2021 1200hrs – 25 April 2021 2359hrs
- Week 5 – 26 April 2021 1200hrs – 2 May 2021 2359hrs
Competition answers will be published at https://www.cybersecuritychallenge.org.uk/spring-cyber-challenge on a week by week basis as each week of the competition closes. Correspondence regarding competition answers will not be entered into.
Weekly prize pool – Weeks 1-4
Winner selected from top scoring submissions: 1x Logitech G935 Wireless PC Gaming Headset or similar
Lucky draw participation: 1x X Rocker Alpha eSports Ergonomic Gaming Chair or similar
Lucky draw participation: 2x Cyber Choices goody bag
Prize pool – Week 5
Winner selected from top scoring submission: 1x HP Chromebook, x 360 12b-ca0001na convertible laptop, Intel Pentium Processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, 12” Touch screen or equivalent
Winners nominated school or college: 1x HP Chromebook, x 360 12b-ca0001na convertible laptop, Intel Pentium Processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, 12” Touch screen or equivalent
Prize winners will be notified by email (supplied by the competition entrant). Winners must respond within 72 hours of the notifying email to secure the prize. Failure to respond within the timeframe given will cause the prize to be returned to the prize pool and redrawn. No further correspondence will be entered into. Prize winners can only win one prize in a prize week.
The Cyber Security Challenge UK and the NCA reserve the right to award prizes to winners they select, and the entrance into the competition and the submission of a right answer does not impose any obligation on the competition sponsors to award prize to any competitor. The sponsors reserve the right to change advertised prizes to ones of equivalent value. No cash alternatives will be provided.
Data gathered for the purposes of participating in this competition fall under GDPR regulations. The Cyber Security Challenge UK is the data owner and processor for all personal data provided by participants. Please refer to our general privacy and data policies for more information. We will never pass your details on to any third party without your consent.
Media & publicity
Participants will be asked to agree for their name to be used in publicity by the Challenge and NCA if they become a winner. This publicity will only refer to the current competition and will not be used in any other publicity without your prior written agreement.
When playing our competitions you must not do anything to contravene any UK Law or do anything to bring Cyber Security Challenge UK or the NCA into ill repute.

Should winners experience any operational or technical issues with their prizes then this should be pursued according to the manufacturer’s warranty procedure.
