CyberFirst is GCHQ’s programme that will deliver a broad range of activities to identify and support talented young people through their education and highlight exciting career opportunities in Cyber.
Undergraduate Student Bursaries
This includes bursaries of £4,000 each year to support new undergraduates, starting in Autumn 2016 for successful applicants. This will also include mentoring, paid summer work and the possibility of 3 years work in a cyber security role following graduation.
CyberFirst opportunities for 14 – 18 year olds
- A series of girls only development days to inspire 14/15 year olds to consider a career in the field.
- CyberFirst Futures residential course delivered with the Smallpiece Trust to give hands on experience in understanding vulnerabilities and protecting networks to 16/17 year olds.
- CyberFirst Advanced for 18 year olds is a free, 3-week residential course. From ethics to programming you’ll be taught new skills and be able to use them in a supportive environment.
